Class News

We have been worked hard in Literacy on our Narnia Topic. We are really enjoying the story and have already done lots of writing about the characters.

In Science we have been trying to clean some dirty water so that it is safe to drink.

What do you think - would you like to try it?

First we used a sieve to remove the large lumps.

Then we used a cloth to try and filter out the smaller parts.

This has helped but we've still got quite a bit to do!

In Design Technology we have been investigating moving story books.

We had some amazing examples to look at:

We found about about the different types of movement and how they work

We then had a practice at making them, thinking about what worked and what didn't.

We are now going to be learning the skills we need to

make our books appealing and eciting to read.

Homework

Homework will be given out every Friday and will be due in the following Thursday. If you have any queries then feel free to come and see me.

PE

PE will be on Tuesday's and Thursday's this term. Please ensure your child has the correct PE kit when required; plain T-shirt, shorts, socks, and trainers, trousers and a jumper when the weather is cold.

Drinks

Drinks of water have been proven to aid concentration; therefore children may keep a water bottle in the classroom. However, please keep all other drinks for their lunchbox.

Reading

Children will be encouraged to read on a regular basis. Your support in this will be greatly appreciated but I realise it can be difficult to fit in reading on a daily basis, thus I strongly recommend that children read 3 times a week. I am also trying to encourage children to reflect on their own reading and would like them to make a comment in their reading records that should then be initialled by an adult.
