PHONICS FOLDERS
You will notice your child has been sent home with a folder with letters and sounds we have been thinking about in the last 2 weeks. These sheets are not homework and do not need to be completed and/or returned to us. They are simply a way in which to keep you in touch with what we are working on at school. They include little actions to go with the letter sounds some of which we have practised at school. The children may show you an alternative, preferred action. C'est la vie!
Please can you send the empty folder to school Fridays so that we can add more sounds when they arise.
READING DIARIES
In your child's reading diary I have been noting your much valued comments. It gives me a discussion point with your child. I will write the name of book I share with your child whenever we "read" together. Please remember I cannot always send these books home. However, you can practise what we are learning at school at the moment which is mostly to do with front/back cover, title, illustrator, author, page numbers, ideas in the book as stated in your diary... . We are beginning to look at letter sounds in the text as well.
